O'SIDE BELOVED HISTORIC PIER

Oceanside’s love affair with its pier began 125 years ago when the first piling was driven into the sand at the end of Couts Street.  Although the relentless waves and violent storms have destroyed the pier over the years, Oceanside continues to rebuild its a beloved landmark.

FUN ON THE PIER

At 1,942 feet, Oceanside Pier is one of the longest wooden piers on the West Coast! Take a leisurely stroll out over the Pacific Ocean, watch the surfers ride a wave, fishermen catch a fish, or grab a bite at the much-anticipated new eatery.

SPECTACULAR SHOW IN THE SKY

In the winter months, the sunsets are so vibrant the colors engulf the entire oceanfront.  It is a truly spectacular, breathtaking experience!  This photo was captured by an iphone!

THE TOP GUN HOUSE

"The Top Gun House" is an Oceanside architectural gem.  Most famously known for its role in the movie of the same name featuring Tom Cruise in 1980's. The home built in 1887 is now the last best existing example of a historic ocean front Queen Anne Cottage.  The cottage has been temporarily removed from its site to allow for the development of a hotel.  It will return as an ice cream parlor...keep an eye out for it!

DIJA MARA

Calling all foodies!  Dija Mara is mixing Southeast Asian flavors with Western flair and Japanese cooking techniques to create a truly unique, Balinese-Inspired menu. Dija Mara is located at 232 South Coast Highway.  Check out dijamara.com.

SWITCHBOARD

Adjacent to the historic Fin Hotel, the Switchboard space was commandeered as a switchboard-operating center in support of the World War II effort.  Chef Justin Haupt spent almost a decade on Maui and Kauai mastering his culinary skills. His dishes offer contemporary, Hawaiian-inspired cuisine.  Switchboard is located at 131 S Coast Highway.  Check out theswitchboardrestaurant.com.

BLADE

Blade is serving up fresh and delicious Italian fare with modern twists for an innovative and authentic menu.  A custom-made pizza brick oven from Italy only adds to the fun of this space! Blade is located at 401 Seagaze Drive.  Check out blade1936.com.

WRENCH AND RODENT

Meticulously sourced local seafood and seasonal produce are transformed into nontraditional sushi rolls plus inventive sashimi, nigiri and daily ceviche flights at this lively Oceanside hangout. MASTERS

An industrial space with classic history, Masters was once a well remembered drag car shop.  The revamped restaurant keeps its authentic character, and offers a warm and inviting dining experience for a lovely escape from the sun and sand.  A separate bar with communal seating serves traditional craft cocktails that sip and smell of the 1920s.  Masters is located at 208 S Coast Highway.  Check out mastersoceanside.com.

THAT BOY GOOD

That Boy Good offers classic southern created BBQ in a fun, vibrant craft brewery.  It's sister location, Miss Kim's by That Boy Good, offers an expanded menu and a nostalgic atmosphere.   TBG is located at 326 N Horne and Miss Kim's is located at 207 N Coast Highway.  Check out thatboygoodbbq.com.

HELLO BETTY FISH HOUSE

Hello Betty Fish House offers an updated spin on classic Baja SoCal beachside favorites such as margaritas and fish tacos, using only the most fresh and local ingredients and seafood. COOMBER CRAFT WINES

This 3,500 square foot urban winery and tasting room, featuring a back patio, is a family owned business that started making wine a decade ago...and it is delicious!  The owners achieved nationwide success with their Skater Girl label (named after their skateboarding bulldog).  Her successor, Marcell, can sometimes be found in the shop.  Around 16 different wines will be offered for tasting and purchase.  Coomber is located at 611 Mission Avenue.  Check out coomberwines.com.
